2020 Is Not Wasted

2020 is not a wasted year! That in itself is a fantastic opportunity if we “believe.” We are in the 6th month of the year. We have an additional six months to go.

While the country may appear to be facing an economic recession due to the hard COVID-19 hit, there is light at the end of tunnels. The virus is still on the rise within our communities. However, we can celebrate the powerful healing testimonials of victims all over the world. We can acknowledge the people, individuals, organizations, and states for putting measures into place to protect the masses. We can appreciate churches that have streaming online and in-person keeping alive God’s word as messages of hope during this storm. Even amid hundreds of people who are losing their jobs due to changes imposed by COVID-19, God has kept you. If you have lost a job, He continues to provide for you. He is sending and instructing you to the resources you need to thrive; that is His gracious hands working. Do not underestimate the power of God!

Like we did not have enough going on already, we also witnessed the unfortunate death of Mr.George Floyed of Minnesota, USA. Suddenly a long-standing war against racial inequality and injustices has resurfaced. This time with an echo, that is more evident! There’s a sign for a change in the winds. It is howling louder than ever.

How can we move past these hard moments that have shaken our nation? In the book “A Worshipers  Tools to Conquer,” chapter 10 encourages us and gives us some strategies to overcome challenges. One important one is prayer. As believers, we can call on our God of Justice: Isaiah 1:17, God of peace: Philippians 4:7, God of strength: Pslams 46: 1-3, God of love: 1st Corinthians 1:10 and God of hope: Job 11:17 to 18. Whatever circumstances in life, there is a lesson to be had if we pay attention to the details above the cloudiness. We can only hold onto that hope “if we believe.” Everything” and anything is possible by God’s grace and mercies. The devil comes to steal and destroy, but as God’s children, we dare to overcome him by the Blood of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. It is the Lamb’s blood that redeems us. We are also made whole and healed by the hope that we have a God that never fails. He can heal all emotional, financial, physical, and spiritual wounds. You have the opportunity to bask in this precious acknowledgment if you believe with all your might.

With six months left in the year, believe God for your miracles, for your breakthrough, and a turnaround. If you look at six months from a fetus’s growth, you are in the second trimester of development. While you can survive outside of the womb, you could still use some cooking time. Hence, do not panic! Be still and know that in this sixth month, God’s amazing miracles through you are preparing for a break forth! With the first trimester bringing us many discomforting shifts in the atmosphere around us. WE MADE IT TO THE 6TH MONTH!

Finally, from a biblical perspective, the number 6 signifies the 6th day God made you and l in His image. We are His products. As our manufacturer, He knows what brokenness to fix in all of us. Yes, it seems like there is no hope for most, yes there are a lot of uncertainties about things that are happening around us. Nevertheless, I want to urge you to hang in tight, stay positive, and know that “everything is possible.” Hold on to that part of God’s word for the rest of the year.  Remind Him of this in your prayer closets. Now more than ever, continue working on your dreams and goals by faith. Write out your plans to execute them. You have a God who never fails! 2020 is not a wasted year. Let His worship remain on your lips. Allow that to shift your outlook for the rest of this year. Tell yourself no matter what has come my way; I have six more months this year. If God can create the whole universe in 6 days and rest on the 7th, what is it that  He can not do for you?
