PRAYER AND WHAT IT DOES

Prayer accomplishes so many things. If we would create a list of the things prayer has accomplished and continues to achieve in our lives individually and collectively, we would still be reading the list when Christ comes! Here are a few lists of things prayer does that you can use as tools to channel your prayer as a worshiper.

1. Prayer opens doors 
2. Prayer heals
3. Prayer creates change 
4. Prayer releases angles on our behalf
5. Prayer brings favor
6. Prayer fights our adversaries. 

Point 1. Prayer opens doors. 

Perhaps the most crucial thing prayer does is that it opens doors. Doors we can victoriously walk into because God has permitted us. The word victorious from the military dictionary is conquering in battle, overcoming an enemy, conquering, winning, and triumphant. We can all agree in our Christian walk; the path is not always smooth. There are various wars we have to battle on the way to our heavenly destination. We have to deal with the enemy standing in opposition to our paths.1Corethians 16:9  For a great door, and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.  

I am here to encourage you no matter how the path presents itself, “war” your way through prayer! Let me repeat ” WAR” your course through prayer and worship. You will not regret entering into prayer. The reason is simple; prayer opens doors. Act 16:26  And suddenly there was a great earthquake so that the prisons’ foundations were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed. May your bands be broken by your prayers in Jesus’s name. Hallelujah!

Point 2.The healing power of prayer. 

In this pandemic, we witnessed the miracle of healing in the lives of our families and friends. Did you know that the power to heal comes because of your faith in God to heal you? Do you also realize the faith of the one praying for you can heal you? Did you know that God’s mercy can heal you? James  5:15  And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him. Therefore brethren, when the sickness of any kind comes near your dwelling, tell it, l serve a big God, a divine healer, and he will never leave nor forsake me. I believe in His healing powers and mercy! I trust in His servant used by Him to pray with me! So shall that declaration be for you and your families to receive healing in the name of Jesus?

Point 3. Prayer creates change 

Another significant thing prayer does change situations. Difficult situations are known to change due to prayer. No matter how difficult a situation is, prayer can help the individual to conquer it. When Peter was in prison, prayer was the instrument used to change his situation. When Paul and Silas were in prison, they used prayer and praise to a similar effect. Prayer is what Elijah used to bring rain unto the earth. Prayer is what changed Hannah’s story.1Samuel 1:10  And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the LORD, and wept sore

Points 4&6. Prayer releases angels to fight our adversaries!

If you want to release angels over a situation, one of the best ways to accomplish it is to enlist angels’ help in prayer. Angels are efficient in such assignments and will gladly respond to such prayers. Angels respond to the saint’s prayer, and this thus defines the power prayer has over angels. The prayers of Daniel enlisted the help of angels. For three weeks, Daniel prayed and got no answer. Did you know why? In the spiritual realm, the Prince of Persia blocked it (see Daniel 10:13). So God assigned Michael, one of the archangels, to fight the evil one. Twenty-one days later, the struggle ended, and Daniel got the answer to his prayer.

Point 5. Prayer brings favor.

Prayer brings a mighty turn. Once you put God in front of your own life. Once you are steadfast in following His will, He God finds favor with you. “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you” Matthew 6:33 Psalm 90:17. Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands!

Prayer Points.

Oh Lord, my God, release the keys to your doors that we may walk victoriously into places and space you want us to thread this 2021. Father God, release your healing power on our lives that we will be vital to walk through the doors you will have for us this year. We can not move, stand, or do without you. Thank you for releasing your healing power over every aspect of our lives tonight and subsequently this year. Create a heart of acceptance, of willingness to hear you as we embrace new things this year. Help us navigate the changes that this year will bring for your name to be glorified! Increase our desire to worship you and keep hope alive in all that it is you want us to do! Send your angels of protection before us to devour the enemy in the name of Jesus. We declare war on them! Terrorize them to flee away from near our dwellings. Finally, like Moses said, ” if your presence does not go with us, don’t lead us from here.” We stand in place of Moses and declare if you don’t go with us, don’t let us walk through doors that will not bring you glory this 2021.
